The HCA takes a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and sets high standards of impartiality, integrity and objectivity in relation to the stewardship of public funds and the management of its activities. The principles contained within this policy apply to both internal and external audiences, including anyone wishing to undertake business or engage with the HCA.

The Anti-fraud Policy and Response Plan sets out responsibilities with regard to fraud prevention, what to do if a fraud is suspected and the action that will be taken by management.

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 provides protection for those who voice genuine and legitimate concerns. In addition the HCA has provided a mechanism for staff to report information security incidents in line with Cabinet Office requirements.

The HCA policy and guidance to staff on corporate hospitality, gifts, guest speaker fees and sponsorship is reviewed periodically. Suppliers, contractors and consultants engaging with the HCA are requested to read and note the policy.

This guidance note sets out the requirements and procedures to be followed when an employee of the HCA (or an individual on secondment to the Agency) has private interests that could be construed as being in conflict with the nature of their work.
