Award-winning affordable housing provider South Northants Homes (SNH) is celebrating the completion of much needed new rural homes for local people.
The new homes are the first to be completed with new investment from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) in the village of Helmdon and mark a milestone in the continued success of SNH.

L-R: Paul Calland, SNH Managing Director and Alan Humphreys, Grand Union Housing Group Chief Executive join Faye Holloway and her son Kai.
The scheme at 22-24a Station Road, Helmdon, marks the completion of 2 two-bedroomed houses and 2 two-bedroomed flats with their own gardens and parking in Station Rd, Helmdon. They have been built with £100,000 from the HCA through its Affordable Homes Programme.
Paul Calland, Managing Director at SNH, said:
“We at SNH and our parent organisation Grand Union Housing Group are so pleased to know local people will be soon moving into their new homes. We worked closely with the district and parish councils to find out about the need for more housing in the village and consulted widely to get the views of people in the village who felt there was a need for these four homes.”
Charles Amies, Head of Midlands South East for the HCA, said:
“Providing affordable homes that meet local needs is a priority for the HCA and makes a crucial difference in rural areas. We are really pleased to be working with South Northants Homes through our Affordable Homes Programme to deliver this important scheme for the local community.”
Grand Union Housing Group was recently awarded partnership status with the HCA, which will help it fulfill a commitment to build new homes in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire over the next four years.
The four Helmdon homes are the first properties the Group will let under 'affordable rent', which will be 80% of the usual full market rent.
The homes were designed by Roger Coy Partnership with work carried out by the contractor Relmfield Builders Ltd.
