North East, Yorkshire and The Humber

Communities Minister Andrew Stunell visited Newcastle upon Tyne and spent some time in the iconic Byker Estate to see for himself how progress is being made to help secure its long-term future.

The Minister and David Curtis, the HCA’s executive director for the North East met local residents and the staff of the Byker Trust, that will take over the management of the estate in May, as they walked through the estate.

They visited the recently refurbished Bolam Coyne as well as the better known Byker Wall (right)

Investing locally

We're working with our partners in local authorities in the North East and in Yorkshire and The Humber to produce Local Investment Plans.

In some parts of the operating area, partners have joined together to produce a plan that covers more than one local authority, such as the combined Tees Valley Economic and Regeneration Investment Plan and a joint plan for all the seven local authorities and the county council in North Yorkshire.
